One of our favorite stories is about an oven. A customer hosting his first Thanksgiving called the day before in a panic. We're closed on Thanksgiving, but the owner's father went out that morning anyway. With the parts stores shut, he searched our service vans until he found a heating element that fit, and dinner went ahead. Most Jenn-Air repairs are less dramatic. Jenn-Air Oven Repair
A Jenn-Air oven that won't heat usually needs a bake element. It's the most-used element in the oven, and the size of the job depends on whether it's exposed or hidden, and whether we can reach it from inside or have to pull the unit and remove the back panel. If the oven heats but stalls short of the set temperature, the temperature sensor is the likely cause. A gas oven igniter can show a False Glow, red but too weak to open the gas valve. Jenn-Air Cooktop & Stove Top Repair
On a gas Jenn-Air cooktop, a burner that won't light needs a new surface igniter or an igniter wire harness kit. The technician removes the cooktop components and rewires the spark igniters that light the gas. On an electric cooktop, the surface element or its infinite switch has failed, and usually there's a short between the two. Jenn-Air Refrigerator Repair
A Jenn-Air refrigerator that stops making ice typically needs an ice maker. Less often it's the water valve, and on more electronic models a control board. Frost building up in the freezer points to a door gasket that isn't seating or to the defrost drain. One note on built-in refrigerators: a sealed-system failure usually isn't worth repairing on a typical unit, but a high-end built-in can be the exception, so call us and describe it. Jenn-Air Dishwasher Repair
A Jenn-Air dishwasher that leaves water behind has a drain pump, impeller, or drain line problem. Poor cleaning is the circulation pump or a spray arm. If the dishes are simply wet at the end, that is often how dishwashers behave, and plastic and Teflon are the worst for it. What a Jenn-Air Service Call Costs
Honest pricing. No surprise fees. A Jenn-Air wall oven is a $145 service call. Built-in units are harder to diagnose, and the oven has to be pulled out of the wall before we can test it. A Jenn-Air range, cooktop, refrigerator or dishwasher is $125. Either way, that charge is for the diagnosis, and the labor is itemized separately.

Jenn-Air Repair Questions
Why does a Jenn-Air wall oven cost more to diagnose than a range?+
The service call is $145 for a wall oven and $125 for a range. A wall oven is built in, which makes it harder to diagnose, and it has to be pulled out of the wall.
My Jenn-Air oven igniter glows. Why won't the oven light?+
Glowing isn't proof the igniter works. We call it a False Glow. The igniter gets red but can't open the gas valve, so no flame follows. About 8 times out of 10, a gas oven that won't heat has a bad bake igniter. The regulator is the other possibility.
Can you fix my Jenn-Air oven before a big dinner?+
We'll try to get you on the schedule, but we can't promise a particular day. We book morning and afternoon blocks on weekdays. Call as soon as you notice a problem and tell us what's coming up. If there's a way to keep the oven working until the visit, we'll talk you through it.
What does it cost to have a Jenn-Air cooktop looked at?+
$125 for the service call. The technician diagnoses the cooktop and gives you the price of labor and materials, and you approve it before anything is replaced.
How long are Jenn-Air repairs covered?+
For 90 days. The warranty applies to our service and to the materials.
Do you repair Jenn-Air microwaves?+
No. Microwave repair isn't something we do. Our Jenn-Air work covers ovens, ranges, cooktops, refrigerators and dishwashers.
